1. Stop worrying about being overweight

No matter how overweight you are, stop worrying!
Why? Because worrying keeps you fat.
The first step towards successful weight loss is to relax.
Because once you relax, you can begin to sort things out.

So relax, okay?

2. Forget about quick-fix diets, or overnight cures

Quick-fix, "miracle" or "magic" diets don't exist. Trust me.
Diet pills, fat-burners, weight loss supplements, fad diets, food-combining diets,
high protein diets, low-calorie diets, appetite suppressants, fasting...
NONE OF THESE METHODS WORK!!

Why not?
Because they don't teach you to eat right.
And if you DON'T eat right, you WON'T lose weight in the long term.
Instead, you'll regain all the weight you lose and more!

My diet can help you to lose weight and slim down to a lovely figure.
But it won't happen overnight.

Question: How fast can you lose weight on my diet?
Answer: It depends.

It depends on how closely you follow the diet!
It also depends on your present weight, your lifestyle, your stress-levels and lots of other things.

As a rough guide
As a very rough guide, if you weigh 180 pounds or more, you should lose 3-4 pounds a week. If you weigh less, you should lose about 2 pounds a week. But unlike many diet-authors, I'm not going to give you any false promises.
Promises are cheap.

Bottom Line
I can promise you one thing. My diet offers the fastest possible weight loss.
You WILL NOT lose weight any faster by following a different diet. If you do, you will almost certainly regain it all AND more. Trust me.

3. Forget about being afraid of food

Why? Because food is wonderful, especially for dieters.
The best way to lose weight is to make friends with good food.

Note: Good food doesn't mean 'diet' food.
It means ordinary good food you can buy in almost any food store.

4. Forget about eating tiny helpings

Why? Because losing weight has nothing to do with eating tiny helpings.

Many of my dieters actually end up eating MORE, not less!

Losing weight means swapping high-calorie foods, for low-calorie-ones.
So you can end up eating bigger portions than before!

Note: Dieting doesn't mean eating less
It simply means eating differently.
It means eating more good food, less junk food and getting active.

5. Forget about eating by yourself

Why? Because my diet is good for the whole family, except babies.
The best way to lose weight is to put the whole family on it.

6. Forget about buying special 'diet' foods

Why? Because losing weight has nothing to do with 'diet' foods, or bars.
The best way to lose weight is to buy ordinary good food.

7. Forget about diet pills

Why? Because diet pills can't teach you good eating habits.

I've lost count of the number of dieters I've had to 'put back together'
after they took pills. So don't waste your money.

8. Don't get obsessed with calorie-counting

Calories are very important.
Counting calories helps to raise your awareness of what you eat.
But it DOESN'T help you to stay healthy.

A candy bar may have as many calories as a monster sandwich.
But it doesn't mean they are 'equally good.'

Instead of focusing exclusively on calories, it's more important to know
which foods are best and learn good eating habits.
My diet teaches you precisely this.

9. Forget about walking your butt off

Losing weight has nothing to do with rushing out and walking your butt off!

Lifestyle
In order to lose weight you have to adopt an active LIFESTYLE.
You have to change your whole attitude to exercise.
You must see exercise as something to do every day, not just for a couple of weeks.

Butt-Walkers
In my experience, dieters who rush out and walk their butts off, don't keep it up.
After 14 days of power-walking around the neighborhood, they give up.

Okay, maybe I exaggerate. But you see what I mean.

A Better Approach
If you really want to lose weight, the best thing to do is plan a realistic exercise program that you can continue in the long term.

  • It should be easy or gradual enough to 'get into', without straining yourself.
  • It should be varied enough to keep you interested.
  • It should exercise your whole body, not just your lower half.

How to Start
(1) Improve your eating habits by following my diet.
(2) At the same time, take 20-30 minutes of light all-over exercise, a day.
(3) As your eating improves, gradually increase your exercise.
(4) My diet gives you lots of help about exactly what exercise is best.

10. Forget about drinking gallons of water

Why? Because losing weight has nothing to do with filling up with liquid.
Sufficient water is very important for all sorts of reasons, but using water as an appetite suppressant or a substitute for food is not a good idea.

For most people, 6-8 glasses of water per day is fine.

Finally... Forget about your past dieting failures

Fact: Nearly all my most successful slimmers were self-confessed 'failures' before they lost weight on my diet.

If they had allowed their 'past' to control them, they would never have lost weight and changed their lives.
