What is the trick to dieting?

What is the trick to dieting?  That’s the question I used to ask myself.  The trick is discipline; if you don’t have it, you can’t achieve your goal.  We spend too much money on different programs and supplements!  It’s time to take control. If you choose to waste your life savings on these so-called diet programs then be my guest. What you don’t realize is those products were not made for us Afro-Americans. Our bodies don’t function the same way. The first thing I discovered was that almost everyone is getting ripped off by supplement companies. I learned that most magazines are nothing more than "supplement catalogs" and that dishonest companies will tell you anything to make a fast buck. 97% of all supplements are a total waste of money! You are being lied to and ripped off by crooked companies that don't care about your health and well-being. These companies receive $13 billion per year from the supplement industry, and $35 billion per year on weight loss industry. The diet and supplement industries are filled with corrupt marketing vultures that are getting rich by preying on your fears, hopes and aspirations. Unfortunately, there's no way to protect yourself from becoming a victim of these ruthless scam artists unless you take control.

The second thing I discovered is that almost everyone is dead wrong in the way they diet to lose body fat. In fact, the way you're dieting to lose weight might be severely damaging to your metabolism.

Is Your Diet Making You FATTER?

Excess weight and physical inactivity account for more than 300,000 premature deaths each year in the United States, second only to deaths related to smoking, says the CDC. People who are overweight or obese are more likely to develop heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes, gallbladder disease, and joint pain caused by excess uric acid (gout). Excess weight can also cause interrupted breathing during sleep (sleep apnea) and wearing away of the joints (osteoarthritis).

Carrying extra weight means carrying an extra risk for certain types of cancer. "researchers have concluded that obesity increases the risk for many of the most common cancers worldwide, and perhaps cancer in general," says Melanie Polk, R.D., director of nutrition education at the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR), a nonprofit research and education organization in Washington, D.C.

To get your approximate BMI, multiply your weight in pounds by 703, then divide the result by your height in inches, and divide that result by your height in inches a second time.  Take control ladies.
